TORN APART

Thoughts of a man torn apart,
Between what’s right and his desires heart,
Determined to lean towards the former,
Wishing this passion could grow stronger,
Before evil desires of mine heart overshadows,
What’s right become chasing mere shadows,
The flesh is weak though spirit eager,
Certainly strength to fight is meager,

Thoughts of a man torn apart,
To indulge in pleasure or to remain alert,
To search for darkness or keep following the light,
To stay on course or loose sight,
To stay on the narrow path to life,
To pursue the broad road and end this strife,
Torn between the two,
Tell me what is a man to do,

Thoughts of a man torn apart,
Disturbed like a toothless flesh eating cat,
Everyday is a battle a struggle of which,
Is persistent unbearable like a rushing itch,
When will I these wounds of mine stitch,
Before they drive me towards fever pitch,
In this state of tepid liquid,
Am afraid I’ll do something stupid,

ANGELICA

My Angelica,
Most sweet smelling flower garden,
With all world’s beauty laden,
Warmth as an ostrich egg just hatched,
Your benevolence unmatched,
Your magnificence unsearched,

My Angelica,
Standing out in all earth’s field,
To you sunshine bows and yield,
For you great men swords wield,
Your eyes alone shine twice as bright,
Even the moon shies away at night,

My Angelica,
Raw and natural as if silica,
Surely glamour can only be your replica,
Your intoxication better than liquor,
Blossoming as roses only quicker,
What a wonderful kicker,

HOPEFUL LOVE

Once again it has happened,
Vulnerable with heart opened,
Here I stand,
This time hoping its forever,
Within me an earnest endeavor,
To fall hard for thee,
Expressed in words but only three,
I love you,

Beautiful as a pure white dove,
Flying in mid-morning sun above,
Your place is with the stars and moon,
Exquisitely bright most surely a boon,
In the darkness of the night,
Behold you what a sight,
To love you with my might,
Is all I want,

I pray this thing is mutual,
Not just another pointless ritual,
That the likes of you perfume,
To move on to a higher form,
I hope it continues to grow,
From a faint glow,
Into something much more,
To that end I implore,
My make to make it so,
Amen,

LIGHT IN MY WOLRD

This life has me corned my quandaries to it owing,
But amidst the quagmires you keeping me going,
The only thing in my world making sense,
Whilst everything else’s plainly messed up and tense,
You well know I’m full of strife,
Even so you still want to be my wife,

Ooh my love how pleasant how sweet,
Paying no heed to the little birds that brazenly tweet,
Me and you will never be we are headed for a doom,
Demonstrating how our love will always boom,
I long for that day I will be your heroic groom,
Put a ring on your finger carry you off to our room,

My warm and bright sunshine through the day,
Heavenly beautiful as the night’s moon ray,
Bodily features well complimented,
Fine mannered uprightly tended,
In a nutshell she’s an amazing lady,
Yes indeed my charming baby,

WHAT HAPPENED TO US

We feel we’re both holding the aces,
But as it always happens in so many cases,
Our alluring emotions will transcend this game,
Honestly I think this is just dull and lame,
I utterly don’t get it am still here,
What happened to us dear?
We use to be so bright and breezy,
Now we are so busy,
Working the silence shunning each other,
I wish not to aggravate this circumvention further,

Let’s go back to the way it was before,
Am tired my heart is sore,
Absence makes the heart grow fonder,
So please let not our relationship founder,
I miss you and I know you do too,
It is best for us if we are two,
Come back to me I’ll run to you first,
Clear our minds unclench our fist fast,
Then open handedly embrace,
Also to all of our ill feelings erase,

ALL IN MY HEAD

There’s that moment just after sunset,
Before the city lights come alive,
It’s extremely difficult to catch it,
For it’s not only very brief,
But slowly creeps in unnoticed,
Thus truly golden,

That’s the best part of my day,
I like to go to the top of the building,
And seat on my stool,
Start staring like a fool,
Everything’s grey,
Time for my mind to make hay,

It sizes that rare chance,
To put me in a hypnotic trance,
Of a whirlwind romance,
With a girl I fancy,
Breathe taking as all lovely flowers in a pansy,
Fireflies glow off the reflection of her eyes,
She’s simply sensational,

We laugh jump and dance,
We hold hug and cry,
We whisper stare and kiss,
But suddenly ends the bliss,
When the first click of the light switch,
Kicks my head out of it,
Time to wake up and smell the coffee,
But there’s always tomorrow,

FOREVER TOGEHTER

Its like,
A long tranquil evening hike,
My head is clear,
My mind pure,
My heart absolutely sure,
My eyes totally dazzled,
Yes I am entangled,
With her,

We’re like,
Bonnie and Clyde,
Every time we collide,
Our chemistry explodes into a love fusion,
There is no confusion,
This is the real deal,
We even have God’s approval and seal,
That’s how we feel,

She’s my one and only,
With her I’ll never be lonely,
My sweet heart and honey,
No fortune fame and money,
Would ever compete,
My love for her is complete,
My passion a burning hot larva,
She’s my best friend and lover,

She’s not a prima donna,
But she gets me into the groove Madonna,
Dancing to the rhythm of our love,
Our feet agree,
Hands up and carefree,
We let the champagne pop,
In our glasses in full glare of the moon,
And ooh my forever seems so soon!

LOVE IS… part 2

Love is
When he offers his coat to shield me from the wind,
And carries me through the mud in a storm,
When he covers me with a huge warm hug,
While his arms gently caress my back up and down,
When he dashes before me to open a door,
Then right back behind me to pull up a seat,
When he gives me a massage on the neck,
After a long day and seal it up with a peck,
When he walks me home under the twilight holding hands,
At the doorstep he gives you a kiss and you taste his glands,
When you’re watching a movie he presents his chest,
For tears are heaving down your head you need it to rest,
When he bows down to ask for a dance,
You smile and throw him an amazing glance,
When he skips his football game,
Just to be with you and doesn’t shift the blame,
When he’s so observant and keen,
Because his love for you is pure and clean,

love is,
how baby smiles when she sees me
she is my princess my love this I say with glee
better than this it could possibly never be
she is as beautiful as two full moons in one African night
everything my love does is just right
only I know how I love her with all my might..
love is...
how my heart beats twice with each beat of hers
in sync we keep high the bars
she takes my breath away with intricacies of hers
my heart has found in hers a lovely home
with my reason and sense she has gone
I shall again never be alone..
Love is...
the waltz that is her walk
weakens my knees disables talk
I see why at her weaker ones balk
she is the story that is my life
fills me with joy no strife
and if this precious girl would let me I’d make her my wife...

ONLY THE SCARE-CROW REMAINS

My mind was raging in flames of sorrow,
Like a fully fledged wild fire,
So my feet compelled me to take a walk,
Across the vast splendid corn fields,
To ease my troubled broken heart,
Calm my blazing thoughts,
May be find a consolation of sorts,

I took easy slow steps,
A cool gentle breeze following from behind,
Whispering in my ear,
You’re going to be alright son,
Love comes and goes,
She’s not the only fine grain on the cob,
You will find an even better one,

Then I got to the spot where we would meet,
A round circle at the middle of the field,
Adorned with carefully slashed dried leaf seats,
Shielded all round beautifully by green grown plants,
And a fierce silent soldier standing still at the side,

There we would converge,
Just the two of us,
On most evenings to recount the day,
But honestly those very moments were its highlight,
When we would chat heart to heart,
Laugh snuggle and lock into passionate kisses,
And out of our breaths would come the hisses,
I will always love you,

Sometimes we would just lie there,
Facing up holding hands,
Watching the sun sink into an orange reddish horizon,
Or we would make fun of Mr. Corn Man,
His ugly nylon face,
With two hands one leg all wooden,

But he guarded well our meeting den,
With him the crops were safe,
And so was my lonely soul that evening,
His leg was buried deep in the soil,
So I was at least certain the scare-crow was going nowhere,

ONE WAY LOVE

Lately I don’t know how I feel,
At the begin it all seemed real,
But now am not too sure,
May be I should let the situation to fully mature,
Before I can blurt it all out,
No! In fact am going to shout,
My therapist told me that’s the best way,
To get it out of my head and throw it far away,

Have you ever loved someone so insanely?
She drains all your energy but you fight it even though wanly,
Your feelings for her deeper than any ocean lake river or pond,
That you would give up eternity just to be with her for a second,
You don’t care what other people say good or bad,
Because in your eyes she’s such a dolly bird,
With a great heart and brightly beautiful inside,
Immensely refreshing like a sun set walk at the sea side,

Sadly though she’s not too sure about her feelings they are at a dispute,
Perhaps she thinks you’re immature foolish and destitute,
She worries what will her family say? how about her friends?
She’s afraid to walk with you lest you lead her into difficult trends,
She denies you even the simplest of romantic affection,
It hurts your soul more than Job’s terrible affliction,
But it would be stupid juvenile and lame,
To find her at fault you’re the only one to blame,

For thinking you would have her in the first place,
Now you’ve learned not to rush into things to control your pace,
You’re tired of playing that game you don’t give a fig,
Who wins or looses it’s not fair anyway she’s out of your league,
There is almost nothing left between you two just a huge gap,
May be it’s time to cut your losses count your blessings and pack up,
You don’t know what to do after much toing and froing,
You realize it’s not that simple like flipping a coin,

FEATURISTIC COMPARISON

I shall compare thee to a phone…

Slim light and multi colored,
Fully touch no buttons to push,
A camera from behind just to watch my back,
Bright screen that displays all of your qualities,

You’ve got me on speed dial in your phone book,
When we’re not together we keep texting love messages,
And when we meet up you stop the clock,
So we can have all the time in the world to play games,

You’ve got our love so in tune we dance to the music,
Am trapped in the net lost in your world wide web of fantasies,
So in sync flowing like waves of the radio,
Yes we are living life like a video,

All these better sweet memories safely stored away,
Through the photographs and clips in your gallery,
But you insist you must also narrate them in the diary,
Baby you are my one four three,
